Nanotechnology Research Programme

Nanotechnology Research Programme

Realizing the importance of nanotechnology for the socio-economic development of the Kingdom, the Higher Council for Science and Technology established the National Nanotechnology Centre of Jordan (NANCEJ) in its meeting No. 58 held on 17/8/2009. The centre commenced its functions officially in early February 2010. The centre aims at building the scientific capacity in the field of nanotechnology in the Kingdom through programming and coordinating scientific research and development activities in this field nationwide, making the necessary financial support available to them, and networking Jordanian researchers with their counterparts abroad. The centre will establish an advanced specialized research laboratory capable of implementing the wide range of R&D and production, open it up for Jordanian researchers on a part time basis or for use during their sabbatical leaves, and incubate investment initiatives and projects that manufacture nanotechnology products and commercialize them.
